The release of Halo Infinite in Nov. 2021 reinvigorated a franchise with deep-roots, and community long in search of its next home run. Now, this live-action dramatization of the game fans know and love, produced by Steven Spielberg, could be the next drip keeping Halo fans engaged with the Master Chief’s story.

Rumors of a live-action Halo TV show have bounced around the internet since as early as 2013, but the gaming community got its first glimpse at Halo The Series in Dec. 2021 when the first teaser dropped at The Game Awards. Since then, the series has received an official trailer, too.

If the overwhelming success of Riot Games’ “Arcane” revealed anything, it’s that video game adaptations can still resonate with a wide audience, even those unfamiliar with the IP, if executed well. Whether you’re a curious Halo newbie or a longtime fan counting the days until release, here’s everything to know about Halo The Series so far.

How to watch

The show will stream exclusively on Paramount+ starting March 24, and new episodes will be released weekly. That means you’ll have to make sure you’re set up with a membership to the platform if you want to keep up.

What is the series about?

Halo The Series will take place in the same universe that fans of the game are familiar with, following the classic storyline of humanity’s battle with the Covenant — an alien empire out for galactic conquest. The show will also dive into personal stories with familiar faces like Master Chief and Cortana, while introducing a slew of new characters.

Who’s in it?

Jen Taylor will continue to voice Cortana, as she has portrayed the character in the games for years. However, Halo The Series will introduce a wide variety of actors from different backgrounds to complete its cast. Here are some of the actors involved.

  • Cortana: Jen Taylor (“Halo” games, “RWBY”)
  • Master Chief: Pablo Schreiber (“American Gods”)
  • Dr. Halsey: Natascha McElhone (“Californication”)
  • Soren-066: Bokeem Woodbine (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”, “Fargo”)
  • Kwan Ha: Yerin Ha (“Reef Break”)
  • Makee: Charlie Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”)
  • Spartan Kai-125: Kate Kennedy (“Catastrophe”)
  • Admiral Margaret Parangosky: Shabana Azmi (“Fire”)
  • Captain Jacob Keyes: Danny Sapani (“Penny Dreadful,” “Black Panther”)
