VGBootCamp announced the 2022 Smash World Tour on Wednesday, confirming that Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate players will get to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes at tournaments across the world this year. The circuit will include platinum and gold events in at least 12 different countries.

Platinum and gold are the highest-tiered tournaments the 2022 Smash World Tour will have to offer. They will be complemented by silver tournaments, a classification that local and regional tournaments can opt in to.

While the amount of silver events in the circuit has yet to be determined, all of the platinum and gold tournaments are set in stone. There will be 35 such events in total, nine of which have not been formally announced.
