ALGS NA Pro League 2021 Day 4 Group C vs. Group D recap

It was XSET's day to take two wins during NA competiton

After the EMEA action wrapped up, Groups C and D from NA took the stage to compete for playoff points on Day 4.

The final three squads in Game 1 ended up being Spacestation, XSET and SXG. Spacestation played very cleanly, and looked poised to clean up the other two squads. Despite a bit of pressure that caused Spacestation’s Joseph “Frexs” Sanchez to use his Caustic ult slightly early, the squad did manage to clean up as XSET went down and they picked SXG off.

In the last circle of Game 2, Sign Us Please decided to try their luck with a push against 100 Thieves while they were using their bubble for a res. After the attack, both teams were down to one player, which left the door wide open for Estral Esports to finish things off.

Game 3

Complexity watched from afar as Esports arena and SXG got into a firefight on the high ground in the final circle. From this vantage they were able to pick off the other teams while taking basically no damage.

Game 4

100 Thieves tried to charge the low ground in the final circle, but were laid low by the teams already there. 100T took too much damage from a Caustic ult to defend themselves, and XSET ultimately took first place for this game.

During the final circle of Game 5, Furia took down G2, but were caught unawares by Esports Arena, who outnumbered them three to two. Esports Arena pressed their numbers advantage and managed to overwhelm Furia to take the win.

The final game of the day turned out to be XSET’s second win of the day as well. They had what casters call a “god spot” in Lava City, which just means a really prime location for a team to hole up in during a rotation. Since there weren’t any enemy Wraiths to grief them, XSET used their superior positioning to easily claim their second win.
