Currently, the Blizzard logo and an image of a play button are on the website. The background consists of tiles referring to other games by the company, such as Hearthstone, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo and StarCraft. Meanwhile, Blizzard’s announcement header image features a lightning bolt over gear.
According to an email announcement, the mobile game will also be “Warcraft’s first game built from the ground up for mobile.” Additionally, Warcraft General Manager John Hight noted in a post that this will be the first game in the Warcraft universe designed for mobile devices.
Warcraft versus World of Warcraft
It should be noted that Warcraft is different from World of Warcraft, and Blizzard’s wording so far appears to make this distinction as well. While Warcraft refers to the RTS series, the latter game refers to the MMORPG.
As fans anticipate the Warcraft mobile game reveal, they can tune in for some World of Warcraft esports action. The third season of the Mythic Dungeon International kicked off last week, with Echo becoming the Group A champions. The team won the lion’s share of the weekly $30,000 prize pool and earned a spot in the Mythic Dungeon International Global Finals.
As for the Group B matches, they will run from April 29 to May 1. This will be followed by Group C games from May 6-8. Fans can visit YouTube to catch the dungeon-running gameplay.
