Twitch streamer Timthetatman shows how overpowered the B.R.U.T.E. is

There’s no question as to how the community feels about the B.R.U.T.E. in Fortnite. Enough has been said about the oversized Mech in the past two weeks. However, while many know it’s overpowered, Twitch streamer Timthetatman demonstrated just how unbalanced it really is.

Tim “Timthetatman” John Betar has been among the many vocal advocates for the B.R.U.T.E.’s removal. While still dabbling with Fortnite Season X, he has switched his attention over to other games like Overwatch. However, in a recent stream, he decided to come back to Fortnite to prove how strong the B.R.U.T.E. is.

Timthetatman shows how easy the B.R.U.T.E. is to use

In their latest blog post, Epic Games gave their reasoning for leaving the B.R.U.T.E. in Fortnite. Essentially, the B.R.U.T.E. gives players of lower skill levels an equal chance to come away with victories. This explains why the B.R.U.T.E. is so overpowered and simplistic to use. Epic wants every player to have a shot at a win, as they said in their blog post.

For example – everyone having a shot at that first elimination or Victory Royale moment and the satisfying feeling that comes with it. Right now, we know there are players out there who have never had that opportunity.

While this is a kind sentiment, it simply doesn’t work in a large scale multiplayer game. Implementing something like a giant Mech is subject to exploits and, in the end, only makes things more annoying for a majority of the player base.

Timthetatman decided in one of his Twitch streams to prove why keeping the B.R.U.T.E. in Fortnite is a bad idea. The New York-based streamer was in a squad with SypherPK, MoNsTcR, and FearItSelf when he found a B.R.U.T.E. in Dusty Depot.

Once Tim was in the Mech, he thought it would be a good experiment to turn off his monitor and see how he could do without looking. Only relying on call-outs from his teammates, Tim continually launched missiles and flew across the map at enemies. In the end, Tim eliminated three opponents, all from the same squad.

If blindly mashing keys can earn you three kills, something needs to change. Although it’s unlikely Epic Games will make an adjustment, the community can hope.
