The First Descendant — How to rank up Mastery

Let's get rid of that annoying notification right here, right now, and upgrade your Mastery Rank!

The First Descendant is the latest entry into the action shooter RPG genre, and it’s pretty cool. The controls are fluid, the fighting feels intense, but there’s just one problem. You’ve got that annoying “Mastery Rank Available” notification, and seemingly no way to get the upgrade.

To help, here’s exactly how to upgrade your mastery rank in The First Descendant.

How to rank up Mastery

Open up your world map (G) and click on Albion. Fast travel the city entrance by clicking and holding. That’s right, you’ll have to go back to Albion to upgrade your Mastery Rank – you won’t find it in your menus.

Next, you’ll need to go the Prime Hands terminal, which is located in the eastern-most part of Albion. You can find it on your map here:

Simply activate the terminal, and you’ll be able to rank up your mastery. Job done, notification gone. You can now continue to enjoy The First Descendant!

How to get Mastery EXP in The First Descendant

To upgrade your Mastery Rank, you’ll need Mastery EXP in the first place. The easiest way to get Mastery EXP in The First Descendant is to complete missions for the first time. So get grinding.

You’ll also get Mastery EXP if you level up without Socket types assigned to Module Slots. And that’s about all you need to know.

I also advice you to learn how to clear out your inventory in The First Descendant, before it becomes necessary.
