Plarium Global has announced its latest game, Mech Arena: Robot Showdown. While the company is best known for Raid: Shadow Legends, their latest title is completely different. The new mobile release is a 5v5 shooter, where players take control of a robot mech – each with different abilities and skills. The game contains 39 different weapons, 23 maps and 15 Robot Mechs at launch, which sounds like a decent amount of content from the get go.

Mech Arena game modes

Mech Arena will launch with a few game modes, including tournament and quick match options to accommodate both casual and experienced players. So far there is a 5v5 Competitive mode, along with 5v5 Control Point and 2v2 Deathmatch. Additionally, there are custom match options for users wanting to have fun with their friends.

“We designed Mech Arena: Robot Showdown from the ground-up to be an accessible and balanced pick-up-and-play shooter on mobile for all ages and skill levels,” said Aviram Steinhart, CEO of Plarium. “Casual shooter fans looking to play a few quick rounds can jump right into the action. They’ll be able to have fun battling with different weapons, maps, and mech customizations, without committing to serious competitive play against more dedicated players.”

Mech Arena will attempt to set itself apart by providing a few different ways to play the game. Each Robot Mech has a different speed, firepower and armor option, making the idea feel similar to Rainbow Six Siege’s agents, in mech form. From there, players can also upgrade every weapon, with options like mortars and homing missiles on offer. Also, the ideal weapon and character choices will differ based on the map, which the developer hopes will add variety and more importantly, replayability, to Mech Arena: Robot Showdown.
