The Fortnite Championship Series is back in 2024, with Qualifiers taking place throughout the year. Here’s how you can get involved, and what rank you need to be to compete.

Sometimes it can feel like esports is a closed house, and the odds of making it to the big show are almost impossible. Epic Games, however, wants to give everyone the chance to reach the top table, and truly run their esports system as a meritocracy—if you’re good enough, you’re in.

That’s why Fortnite players will have six opportunities to qualify for the Global Championships later this year, with Open Qualifiers that anyone can compete in. Here’s how you can get involved.

Can I still qualify for FNCS 2024?

Following the conclusion of the first Major Open Qualifier on January 26, many were left wondering if they had missed their chance to compete this year. Thankfully, you can still qualify for FNCS 2024.

Each Major has two Open Qualifier sessions, and you don’t have to compete in the first to make it in.

How to compete in Fortnite FNCS 2024

If you want to compete in Fortnite’s FNCS 2024 Open Qualifiers, you’ll need to make sure that you and your duo are ranked at least Platinum 1 in the game’s Ranked Mode. If you’ve achieved this, you can then enter any of the Open Qualifiers.

Each Open Qualifier is split into four rounds. These rounds last three hours, during which players will compete in 10 matches, and be rewarded points based on kills and final placement. Duos with the most points will earn a place in the Major Semi-Finals.

Players earn their spot in the FNCS Global Championship based on their performance in the Major Grand Finals.
