To get past the huge bug in Sonnet Swamps in The Plucky Squire, one needs heroism and a keen sense of wordplay. Luckily, I have both. Let’s go through a step-by-step guide on how to get past this big blob of bug and onto the next page of this plucky story.
How to get past the huge bug in Sonnet Swamps in The Plucky Squire
- Defeat the bugs
- Talk to Minibeard
- Fill the moat
- Activate the switch
- Drain the moat
- Open the rusty gate
- Go to the tiny frog
- Make the huge bug tiny
Defeat the bugs
Clear out all those wretched bugs on each side to open up the gate on the left page.
Talk to Minibeard
Speak to the mini wizard and he’ll drop you a hint to fill the moat with water.
Fill the moat
On the right page, strike the word ‘full’ in the sentence “These ruins were just full of bugs!”. Pick up the word, exit the left page at the portal and carry it to the portal on the right page. Swap the word ‘drained’ with ‘full’ in the sentence “The moat was completely drained of water”.
Activate the switch
Cross the water-filled moat and activate the switch to open a door in the moat.
Drain the moat
Swap the word ‘full’ with ‘drained’ this time. Then, make your way into the opening of the moat activated by the switch. Find a small pink creature and a sentence before it that reads, “Jot peered into the open grate.”
Open the rusty gate
Strike the word ‘open’ with your sword and pick it up. Carry it to the gate and swap the word ‘closed’ with ‘open’ in the sentence, “The rusty gate was closed”. The gate will open, leading you to the tiny frog.
Go to the tiny frog
Approach the tiny frog to see a sentence that reads, “The tiny frog observed the bug.” Strike the word ‘tiny’, pick it up and carry it to the middle of the page, where the huge bug sits.
Make the huge bug tiny
Swap the word ‘huge’ with ‘tiny’ in the sentence, “A huge bug sat in the middle of the path”. The huge bug becomes tiny, scurries away and opens up the path.
