As you begin your journey in LEGO Fortnite, you must find several materials to upgrade your tools and other items. One of the most important materials you have to find a way to get is Granite Slabs, used in several higher-tier recipes.
Granite Slabs are defined as an early-game material in LEGO Fortnite, but you will have to have a large stock of them if you want to create more recipes down the line. You need them to upgrade base structures, tools, and crafting stations, among other items. Of course, you won’t be able to use the Granite Slabs until you unlock these more advanced recipes, but for now, you can just learn how to get them in LEGO Fortnite.
Getting Granite Slabs in LEGO Fortnite
As you might have expected, the process of acquiring Granite Slabs starts with first finding Granite. Luckily, Granite is among the most common resources you can find in LEGO Fortnite, as it’s simply looted by mining large, gray stones with your pickaxe. As such, you can start to loot Granite as soon as you have your starting tools.
You’re able to find the Granite rocks all across the world of LEGO Fortnite, but they’re most commonly found in the starting biome. Just walk around the biome and you’ll see dozens of these rocks, so spend some time mining them to build up a healthy stock of Granite.
Once you have a decent amount of Granite, you need to start construction on a Stone Breaker, an advanced crafting station. To unlock the recipe for the Stone Breaker, you need to have a specific village level as well as the following quantities of two resources:
- 20 Knotroot
- 35 Marble
With the right village level and this specific number of Knotroot and Marble, you can construct a Stone Breaker. Once it’s created, you can interact with it and set the Granite Slab as its current recipe. Then, all you need to do is insert your Granite into the machine and it will begin to pump out Granite Slabs, which you can then take and add to your inventory.

Every one Granite will make one Granite Slab, so you can make as many slabs as you have Granite. This means you won’t have to find Granite too often, but if you want to make more advanced items and machines in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll need a decent stock of it.
