The only place you can find Blast Cores is in LEGO Fortnite’s Dry Valley caves. Hunting anywhere else for these will leave you empty-handed, so don’t waste your time.
Specifically, you’re looking for Blasters, who are black and red creatures that look similar to the Rollers you find in the Grasslands. They pack a punch though, so be warned.

To harvest Blast Cores in LEGO Fortnite, you simply need to kill Blasters. As I said before though, these monsters can deal some major damage, so take the fight seriously.
They will chase after you and explode if they get too close, so treat them like Creepers from Minecraft. Long-range combat is ideal here, so take a crossbow with you if you have one, as I found that the easiest way to take them down.
Once you manage to take one down, you’ll be able to pick the Blast Core up off the ground and add it to your inventory.

Blast Core is used to create the Metal Smelter in LEGO Fortnite. This is very important for your progression, as you need this machine to smelt Copper into Copper Bars.
