Under normal circumstances, Dragonite does not have access to this powerful Dragon-type attack in its moveset. Here’s what players need to know in order to get their own Dragonite with Draco Meteor in Pokémon GO.

How to get Dragonite with Draco Meteor in Pokémon GO

To teach Dragonite this limited-time event move, trainers will have to evolve a Dragonair during next month’s Community Day or within the following two hours. This timeframe will last from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the player’s local time zone on November 5. Any Dragonair evolved during this time period will automatically learn Draco Meteor upon evolving into Dragonite in Pokémon GO.

In addition, trainers who don’t already have a Dragonair need not fret. As the spotlighted Pokémon, Dratini will appear in the wild much more frequently during the upcoming Community Day. As a result, trainers will have an easier time than usual catching enough Dratini to get the Candies they need to evolve one up to a Dragonite.

Draco Meteor is a powerful move that is primarily learned by Legendary and pseudo-legendary Dragon-types. It deals 150 damage in Gyms, Raids and Trainer Battles. The move costs 100 energy in Gyms and Raids, while only costing 65 energy in Trainer Battles. However, the trade-off is that Draco Meteor also drops the user’s Attack stat by two stages when used in a Trainer Battle.

More about Dratini’s Community Day

Players who spend $1 will also get to take part in a Special Research story known as the Dratini Community Day Classic. There will also be a number of Event Bonuses available during the Community Day. For example, players can expect to receive three times as much Stardust on catch as they normally would.

In addition, Incense and Lure Models activated during the Community Day will remain active for three hours. With Event Bonuses like these, players should have plenty of motivation to hunt down however many Dratini they need to get their Draco Meteor Dragonite in Pokémon GO.
