New-release games having errors is nothing new, but when they hinder your ability to play the game they can be extremely frustrating. This is exactly what Helldivers 2 players have had to deal with in the weeks since its arrival.
The co-op shooter has exploded in popularity with its arrival on PlayStation and PC, and with a lot of players can come a lot of problems. One of these is causing the game to crash when players look to select a planet. Though not all problems are fixable this is one that the developers are aware of, so here’s what you need to know.
Helldivers 2 crashing when selecting planet
Sadly there is no quick fix for this error in Helldivers 2, but don’t stress! The devs are on the case.
This problem appears to stem from the server capacity currently available for the game. With its explosion in popularity, players are having big issues across the board. If you encounter this error when selecting a planet you can try to restart your game to get around it, however, you’ll need to join the server queue once again, so it might not be worth doing.
On Feb. 18 Arrowhead Games said that they are aware of the problem and other issues coming as a result of server capacity being full, and they are working around the clock to fix them and get things back to normal. Hopefully, this fix will come soon, but sadly there is no way of knowing exactly how long it will take.
For now, if you don’t mind waiting you can restart your Helldivers 2 game and try to get around the planet selection error.
