Registeel having access to a Shadow form carries major implications for the GO Battle League. This once tanky Pokémon now has the ability to deal out even more damage with its powerful Charge Moves. Here’s how you can obtain this soon-to-be force in Pokémon GO’s Team GO Rocket Takeover.

How to catch Shadow Registeel

Players that log into Pokémon GO between February 1 and March 1 will gain access to a set of Special Research missions to chase down Team GO Rocket’s Leader, Giovanni, for the chance to save Shadow Registeel. At the end, players will need to likely defeat Giovanni and his team of powerful Shadow Pokémon to gain access to the opportunity to catch Shadow Registeel.

After the Mythical Wishes Event concludes on March 1, players will no longer have access to the Special Research missions for Shadow Registeel, so be sure to log in before this opportunity disappears.

Meanwhile, the Team GO Rocket Takeover will take place Wednesday, February 1 at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 5 at 11:59 p.m. (local time). During this event, Pokémon GO players can take advantages of a bunch of useful benefits. Players will be able to battle more Team GO Rocket Grunts, use Charged TMs to forget the Charged Attack Frustration from their Shadow Pokémon and catch new Shadow variants of Pokémon such as the fan favorite Alolan Vulpix.
