So can you still get a Shiny Mega Salamence in Pokémon GO?

How to get a Shiny Mega Salamence

Unfortunately, with the conclusion of the Twinkling Fantasy event and Mega Salamence being cycled out of Mega Raid battles on January 18, 2023, players will need to wait for another opportunity to encounter Mega Salamence in Mega Raids. However, existing shiny Bagon, Shelgon, or Salamence in a player’s collection still have the ability to Mega Evolve.

Bagon evolves into Shelgon for 25 Bagon candy with Shelgon evolving into Salamence for 100 candy. Giving Salamence 300 Mega Energy will allow it to Mega Evolve into Mega Salamence for the first time, with subsequent Mega Evolutions only requiring 40 Mega Energy.

Although the Mega Raid period for Mega Salamence has concluded, players still can earn Mega Salamence Energy by walking with either Bagon, Shelgon, or Salamence as their buddy, earning 5 Mega Energy per Candy. This only works if Mega Salamence is registered in a player’s Mega Pokedex, so be sure to Mega Evolve a Salamence first so its registered.

Mega Salamence will surely be apart of future Mega Raid battles and events, so be sure to keep up with Pokémon GO news for future updates on Mega Salamence’s return to Mega Raid battles.
