Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 4 adds Black Panther monument to the map

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Epic Games continues to add on to the Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 4 map. Yesterday, we saw the arrival of Ant-Man’s Ant Manor and some additional Rift Beacons on the island. Clearly, Epic is tying the Marvel theme together with the new locations. However, it appears that not just Ant Manor is new in Fortnite. Earlier today, we got a new update and while there were no patch notes, players immediately noticed a new location. The Black Panther monument, situated in the south part of the island, is now live for players to see and explore.

Black Panther monument added to Fortnite

While many are calling this an homage to the recently passed Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this location has been in the game files since then start of Season 4. However, the timing of its arrival could very well be in honor of Boseman.

Either way, many players are looking at this addition as a way to honor the popular movie and actor. Although, the addition of the monument could hold some secrets. You can view the new location in Fortnite below.

You can find the Black Panther monument just west of Misty Meadows, perched on the side of a mountain. Taken almost directly from the Marvel comics, this location is an interesting addition. It follows the arrival of Ant Manor and precedes some other leaked locations that could arrive soon.

It’s unclear what Epic Games is planning with all of the new spots on the Fortnite Season 4 map. However, it can be presumed that they all tie in with the Chapter 2 – Season 4 storyline in some way. Perhaps this is a hint as to which skins Epic will add down the line. Or maybe each location will play a part in stopping the incoming villain Galactus. We’ll have to wait to find out.
