Everything you need to know about the Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event

The free event brings more limited-time content and cosmetics

Halo Infinite‘s newest event, Tactical Ops has begun and it has brought new content along with it. Players can hop into the Tactical Slayer event playlist, which began Tuesday, and earn 10 new cosmetics across the Battle Pass.

The Tactical Slayer playlist includes the original mode, called SWAT in previous Halo titles, with Battle Rifles and no peripherals such as a radar, shield or grenades. The mode will also have four variations in the playlist: Commandos, Sidekicks, Stalker Rifles and Manglers. Mangler and Sidekick will be available in Week 1 and Commandos and Stalker Rifles will join in Week 2.

The cosmetics that will be up for grabs are more within the canonical Halo fiction than previous cosmetics given out in free events. These 10 items are all themed around the Mark VII Core, with the Mark V ZETA up for grabs as one of the premier items in the fifth tier.

The 10 tiers of new cosmetics include a Spartan Stance, Purple Armor Visor, an Emile’s Helmet charm, Crossing Swords backdrop, Mark V Zeta helmet, Mark VII chest and hip Attachment, along with gloves, orange and silver armor coating and helmet attachment.

To unlock these new cosmetics, players will need to complete the 10 Tactical Ops challenges in the new Halo event. All challenges must be completed in the event playlist.

The challenges are as follows:

  • Kill enemy Spartans with the Battle Rifle in Tactical Slayer (seven times)
  • Earn distinct killing sprees in Tactical Slayer
  • Kill enemy Spartans with a headshot in Tactical Slayer (12 times)
  • Complete Tactical Slayer matches
  • Kill enemy Spartans with a headshot in Tactical Slayer (seven times)

  • Kill enemy Spartans with the Sidekick Pistol in Tactical Slayer (10 times)
  • Kill two enemy Spartans in rapid succession in Tactical Slayer (seven times)

Players will have until March 22 to complete the challenges of the event before it leaves the game.
