EA Reveals FIFA 19 Team of the Week 2

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

As with every week in FIFA Ultimate Team, there is a Team of the Week. This is a selection of players who excelled in the previous week of real-world football. If a player performs significantly well, they will get a boosted item in FIFA Ultimate Team. These items are limited; they are only available for one week, so if you want to get these players in a pack, you will only have one week to do it. If you don’t secure these players in a pack, you will have to pay ridiculous fees to re-purchase these players from the transfer market.

With that being said, this Team of the Week is very good, with some players that may benefit your squad. Some of these players may be cheap too, so look out for that on websites such as FUTBIN, where you can track player prices when they release.

Thomas Meunier

Meunier has been one of PSG’s most consistent performers for many seasons now. He scored in the Champions League last week against Liverpool, and also managed to score one goal and grab an assist in their 3-1 away win at the weekend. With his statistics mostly in the 80 regions, he will be a great player to bring on as a “super sub” in the midfield.

Along with this, the Belgian is great to link into your squad. His nationality will allow players to link him to most of the top leagues. However, linking him with Rabiot and Mbappe on the right side of your team wouldn’t be too bad either.

Ilkay Gundogan

As mentioned in a previous article where I spoke about some of the best players in the Premier League, Ilkay Gundogan is certainly one of the most viable center midfielders in the Premier League. His base card is fantastic in Ultimate Team, so I can only imagine how good this in-form item will be. With high dribbling, shooting, and passing, he will make for a great center-attacking-midfielder. Finally, the use of his 4-star skills will be key when beating defenders.

He secured this in-form item after a goal and an assist in Manchester City’s 5-0 victory against Cardiff City at the weekend.

Lorenzo Insigne

Having high pace and high dribbling in FIFA is always a combination that is feared by most players. One player, in particular, is Lorenzo Insigne. Even though he may be small, he is perfect as a player who runs down the wing to supply his teammates with great passes. He often is able to cut inside and shoot for himself. However, in Napoli’s 3-1 win at the weekend, Insigne scored twice from a central position. This means that he has received a striker card, he will now be able to play in the central-attacking positions, and he may not be the greatest from the striker position, due to his lack of height and strength.

Petr Cech

Petr Cech has had a shaky start to his career at Arsenal. He has also made a numerous amount of mistakes from the goalkeeping position this season alone. However, he has managed to secure an Inform item after making 6 saves in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at the weekend. He also won the man of the match in that game, so this new item is fully deserved.

Also mentioned in the best Premier League players article, Cech may become quite cheap after the hype of Team of the Week has died down. So, his overpowered card from Ultimate Team has gotten even better with this new item.

Wissam Ben Yedder

Ben Yedder has been one of the most overpowered players in FIFA for a long time now. His high pace, skill moves, and finishing ability allow him to breach almost any defense with ease. However, after scoring a hat trick (3 goals) and assisting one goal in Sevilla’s 6-2 victory over Levante, he has received an Inform item. This means that the French attacker will certainly be used more and more, especially in FUT Champions.

His new item in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team is a great addition for those players who use French squads. He is very underrated and will certainly become feared among all Ultimate Team players.
