When the XDefiant closed beta was launched, Ubisoft announced that it was coming with some big changes. One of the updates is to aim assist with controllers.
According to recent updates from developers, console players will notice that aim assist has been strengthened by about 5%. Executive Producer Mark Rubin explained that XDefiant originally “significantly reduced” aim assist compared to other games to avoid being “overbearing.” This was done in hopes of allowing “player skill to be more prevalent.” But it needed a bit of adjusting.
Rubin said: “What we found in the closed beta is that the settings didn’t necessarily present themselves the way we expected in a live environment, so we did buff it up a little bit on console to match the PC experiences.”

If you are using a controller, you may have to get used to the aim assist. Try messing around with the sensitivity in the settings to find the right speed and accuracy for your own style. Make adjustments as you practice to find out the settings that suit you best.

Is XDefiant crossplay?
Yes!
The XDefiant closed beta boasts full crossplay capabilities. This means that you can play with friends on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC.
Keep in mind, however, that this means some players will possibly be using keyboard and mouse while you’re using controller. Right now, it’s impossible to know which group of gamers has the upper-hand but it’s commonly accepted knowledge that keyboard and mouse has a lot more accuracy and speed.
Only time will tell if XDefiant’s aim assist has created balance between players.
