“Hector’s passion for gaming, his ability to create first class, dominant esports organizations, and his engagement with fans are why we love working with him and why we’re excited about this new partnership with the Chicago Huntsmen,” said Juergen Stark, Chairman and CEO, Turtle Beach, in a release. “Hector is a pioneer in our industry, as well as a loyal and forward thinking partner and we can’t wait to collaborate with him on future product innovations and activations with the Chicago Huntsmen players, staff, content producers and fans.”

The partnership continues an existing collaboration between Turtle Beach and H3CZ. This began in 2016 with OpTic Gaming, the previous esports organization that H3CZ had owned. Since then, the gaming peripheral brand has seen its products used at multiple world championships in titles like those for Gears of War, Halo, and Call of Duty.

“What can I say? Turtle Beach has been a great partner over the years, so as I build another winning organization with the Huntsmen it’s important that they have the very best equipment,” said Hector Rodriguez, Co-CEO, NRG Esports. “Turtle Beach has been a part of my life in gaming since the very beginning, and I’m excited we get to continue stacking up more wins and creating more amazing content together.”

As part of this partnership, the Chicago Huntsmen will be using the original Elite Pro and Elite Pro 2 gaming headsets for team play and streaming activities. In addition, Turtle Beach will work directly with the organization to create content around both brands.

The Huntsmen’s roster for the 2020 season consists of Seth “Scump” Abner, Matthew “FormaL” Piper, Dylan “Envoy” Hannon, Peirce “Gunless” Hillman, and Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson. Substitute players Jordan “General” General and Marcus “MBoZe” Blanks support the lineup, along with head coach Troy “Sender” Michaels and analyst John “x2Pac ThuGLorD” Hartley.

The Huntsmen play their first match of the season at the Call of Duty League Launch Weekend tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
