This game is as simple and silly as it gets. Play as a legless gorilla and compete with other legless gorillas in various game modes like Tag, Infection, and Paintball but with slingshots. The only catch here is there’s no walking allowed because nobody has legs. Push, crawl, and parkour all the way to victory using Gorilla Tag’s arms-only locomotion scheme. It’s a great game for monkeying around and having a laugh with friends and strangers alike.

As far as VR MMOs on Steam go, Zenith: The Last City stands out as the most expansive in terms of play space. It has a huge map that players can explore while actively fighting monsters with a variety of ranged and melee weapons. No tab-targeting is required. Zenith is blazing a trail for VR MMOs, and it’s something that Sword Art Online fans may want to look out for–go on adventures with friends or just chill in a cozy tavern after a long day.

Beat Saber also lets players create and enjoy tracks that aren’t included in the base game, significantly increasing its value.

There are quite a few story-driven experiences made for VR, but Red Matter takes the cake as one of the more interesting ones out of the bunch. The game’s success spawned a sequel, which offers more of the same but with a different story and an even shinier coat of paint.

Exploring dungeons is nice, but diving into a procedurally-generated one in a VR game is better. Behind Ancient Dungeon’s Minecraft-style aesthetic is a deep rogue-lite system with hundreds of upgrades, dozens of enemies, and physics-based combat that packs a hefty and satisfying punch. Evade traps, swat away arrows with a sword, kick skeletons down chasms, die, then try again. Good luck!
