We are about ten days away from the release of Avengers: Endgame and it seems Fortnite may be bringing back a familiar face. Data miners and rumors have been spread speculation that a Thanos event and perhaps even Avengers-themed skins could be coming to the game in the next update.
This does seem fitting considering that Epic Games did a Thanos event for Avengers: Infinity War and players loved it. It would also be quite cool to obtain special skins to show off your love for the Avengers and all things Marvel. Who wouldn’t want to rock an Iron Man or Captain America skin while facing him?
What we know so far
Skin-Tracker and Fortnite Intel both noticed a specific entry in the latest patch update v8.30. Basically, suspicious kill-feed messages piqued their interest.
Also mentioned according to the tweet are ice fiends, ice brutes, unleashing of infernos, zapping people out of the sky, and a very ominous death message. If you die, you will see the following: “yielded to the POWER of Thanos.”
Now if that doesn’t all-out confirm his return, I don’t what will beyond confirmation from Epic. That said, all of this was data mined, so take it with a grain of salt. You can check out the original tweet below.

Epic’s creative director tweets massive hint
Recently on Twitter, a picture of Robert Downey Jr. aka Iron Man was tweeted by Epic’s creative director Donald Mustard. In the picture, Downey is sporting a Fortnite shirt alongside this caption: “Looking good, @RobertDowneyJr. See you soon! #teamdowney.”
Now, why would he tweet that out if Iron Man or the Avengers weren’t coming to the game in some capacity? We can only speculate until we get 100% confirmation from Epic Games.

The last crossover event in Fortnite did extremely well and drew in tons of players. Can this next possible crossover event do the same? We will have to wait and see.
The hype for the next Avengers movie and the continuing growth of Fortnite‘s player base makes it a perfect collaboration once again. Personally, this definitely makes Fortnite more interesting for me on top of all the other great things it already offers.
Fortnite players, are you ready to face Thanos again? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to stay tuned to Daily Esports for the latest on the Fortnite World Cup.
