The new season of Apex Legends has gone over fairly well with the community thus far. There have been minimal bugs introduced, unlike previous seasons that kicked off with game-breaking glitches. At least, this is what fans thought when Season 4 originally launched last week. However, a Twitch streamer seems to have discovered a new glitch that grants players invincibility just for being in a certain fridge. Today, we’ll be going over this bug in hopes that Respawn will fix it sometime in the near future.
What is the fridge glitch in Apex Legends?
Like with most bugs, this was found accidentally by an unsuspecting Apex Legends player. Twitch streamer and NRG player Brandon “Ace” Winn was among the first to publicize the glitch.
Essentially, the glitch involves a specific fridge in Fragment East that allows free entry to any player. Obviously, the fridges aren’t supposed to be accessible in Apex Legends, but since this one is, it introduces some strange mechanics. When a player is inside of the fridge, they cannot be shot with bullets, granting them near-invincibility.
However, there does happen to be a counter, luckily. If you know a player is sitting in the fridge, equip a Thermite Grenade and throw it directly at the fridge. As long as the fire trail touches the fridge, any player inside will start to take damage. Below, you can see a clip by Reddit user GoldBoot47 that details the glitch.
While there is a counter, this is still a huge issue. Unsuspecting players can be unfairly eliminated by players exploiting the fridge bug. Hopefully, Respawn can put out a hot fix to patch the glitch within the coming days.
