The next Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel event is right around the corner. Instead of jumping into the Link Festival, Konami, the creators of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, decided to swerve the player base and instead run with a new type of Festival: the Limit 1 Festival. The event is set to take place starting on Wednesday, June 16 and will run through the end of day on Sunday, June 26.
Just like during previous Festivals, players will play against each other with decks abiding by the special deck-building rules of the event as they earn medals which can be exchanged for cool unique prizes and Gems.
Format
This format is straightforward. Unlike previous formats that limited the types of cards players could use in their decks, this format simply restricts the amount of the same card players can use. In this event, players can only use one copy of each card in their deck instead of being able to use the normal up the three of each card. This means if players are going to use a 40-card deck, they must use 40 different cards to make them. This restriction is also extended to the extra deck.
This format is designed to let players who are not constricted by cookie-cutter deckbuilding shine. Players can technically still play decks based around archetypes and themes, but they will have to, at the very least, get creative when it comes to what other powerful cards they will have to include.
This format will not force players to play around with specific extra deck cards and archetypes. Because of this, the format will make it easier for players to use the cards available in their card pool to make their own unique concepts.
Ban List
Even with every card limited to one copy, some cards have been deemed too good or too toxic for the event. As a response, Konami has decided to ban select cards to help ensure a healthy and fun environment for the duration of the event.
Some of the cards that are banned include cards like Vanity’s Emptiness, Soul Charge and Fusion Destiny among others.
