Why is the Magma camo not showing up in MW3 & Warzone?

MW3 and Warzone players have been grinding XP to unlock the Magma camo, only to find it won't unlock, and the reason is frustrating.

MW3 and Warzone players are voicing their frustration at the fact that the Magma gun camo from the Vortex: War’s Domain event isn’t unlocking, despite completing the XP challenge set by the devs.

The Vortex: War’s Domain event is live in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone right now, tasking players with obtaining XP in return for Double XP tokens and cosmetic rewards, including the aforementioned weapon skin.

Unfortunately, players are complaining that despite reaching the number set in the game, the camo is not appearing in their inventories, and cannot be applied to their loadouts. Unfortunately, there is a simple, but annoying, reason why.

Missing MW3 & Warzone Magma camo explained

The reason that the Magma camo isn’t unlocking is that the values in the event hub are incorrect. As tweeted by the official Call of Duty Updates account, you need to earn 1,233,700 XP to get your hands on the weapon skin.

This is over double what the game currently claims, as it states that you only need 458,500XP to get your hands on it.

Obviously, this is incredibly frustrating, especially if you’re one of the many players who believed that had earned the skin fairly. Sledgehammer has yet to adjust the values in the Vortex: War’s Domain event hub, but may do so in a future update.

Even though the values are incorrect, Sledgehammer has confirmed that any XP earned will still go towards the unlocks, so if you do want to unlock the Magma camo, just keep on playing and eventually you will earn it.

You still have until Wednesday, January 17 to get the XP you need and complete the event, when presumably another event will take its place. Hopefully, the next one gives you your rewards when you expect them.
