The day Fortnite fans have patiently awaited is finally upon us. Chapter 2 – Season 2 comes to an end today, and we’ll finally get to see what Epic Games has in store for Season 3. Before that happens though, there’s the end-of-season event to deal with.
Nicknamed “The Device” event, we don’t know much leading up to the spectacle. We do know that the Doomsday Device is set to explode, and the Hatches around The Agency are opening up. There are also leaks of Fortnite moving to an underwater theme. With so much intrigue, it’s not surprising that so many players are anxious to watch the event. So, when does it start?
The Device event in Fortnite
Epic Games has confirmed that the event will begin at 2:00 p.m. ET on Monday, June 15. Like all other Fortnite events, you’ll need to be in-game in order to see the action live. As the past has shown, this usually means that the servers will be flooded with millions of fans. The Season 1 event, for example, saw 12 million players in-game.
So, you’ll need to be ready well ahead of 2:00 p.m. ET if you want to see the event live. Epic recommends that players arrive around 30 minutes before the start time to ensure they get into a server. However, if you can, we would recommend arriving 45 minutes to an hour early.
If you do manage to get into a server, we suggest landing near The Agency. It’s not confirmed this is where the action is happening, but it seems the likeliest. After all, this is where the Hatches are, and Season 2 has surrounded this particular location. Assuming the leaks are correct, then after The Device event ends, the Fortnite map will be covered in water. It’s a safe bet that The Agency will have something to do with that.
Will you be watching The Device event live? Let us know, and keep up with Daily Esports for all Fortnite news.
