In terms of a storyline for Fortnite Chapter 2, there isn’t much to speak of. Epic Games has severely toned down its narrative for Season 1 of the new chapter, which is sad as they’re great storytellers. Although, with Season 2 releasing in just eight days, that could all change. While we don’t have much to go on, there have been some things happening that could be teasers for the next season, one of which is the real-life vault drawn in the California desert. The other is the fact that gold furniture has been popping up all over the Fortnite PC files.
Gold furniture in Fortnite?
Dataminers noticed this gold material with the release of last week’s update. Leaks then started to surface with images like the one at top. Obviously, Fortnite doesn’t have any golden furniture in the game as of right now.
So, this is Epic Games either planning some kind of limited-time mode or something much larger. Most everything in Fortnite can be harvested with your pickaxe for three materials: brick, wood, and metal. This fact has led some to believe that the gold furniture will be harvestable for a fourth material — gold. Data-miner @Lucas7yoshi has all of the details.

Once fans saw this, theories started popping up all over social media. One of the most popular is that these props could be featured in the Solid Gold LTM, which features only legendary weapons and items. However, that mode is only for weapons, so we’re not sure that theory is viable.
While there are some others, the most likely is that Epic Games will introduce a fourth material. Presumably, the gold material will be extremely rare but also hard to destroy. We have no other details at this time but should see more once Season 2 draws closer.
