WePlay Dragon Temple reveals its broadcasting lineup

WePlay will be hosting a big Mortal Kombat 11 tournament this month titled the WePlay Dragon Temple, and we now know who will be behind the mic of the event. The analysts for the event will be Big D and Kitana Prime, and commentary will feature HBTWarrior and PNDKetchup. The event will add more talent to the roster as it reaches its December 10 start date.

For those who don’t know, WePlay is an organization based in the USA, China, and Ukraine. They have been hosting and running esports events both online and off since 2012. The Dragon Temple tournament is an invitation-only event featuring an undisclosed number of top Mortal Kombat 11 talent. The roster of players is unknown so far. But with the event less than a week away, we would think that will change very soon.

The event format will be as follows — it will begin with a round robin group stage consisting of best of three sets. The groups will be split into two, and after the group stage four winners from each group will advance to a double-elimination bracket. This bracket will play out until a winner emerges, and every set will be best of five. The setup is a bit unusual for an invitational tournament, but it means that every competitor will have to be at the top of their game. It’s especially true in a double-elimination bracket with best of five matches. That is a lot of Mortal Kombat 11 to play.

It is all going down very soon

To top it all off, the tournament will take place in the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is unknown how the event will handle bringing players together to a physical event in Ukraine. It could be very difficult logistically, which may explain why the roster hasn’t been revealed yet. The tournament will take place from December 10 to December 13 and will be streamed on WePlay’s Twitch channel. Lastly, the winner of the WePlay Dragon Temple will take home the lion’s share of a $60,000 prize pool.
