VALORANT patch 3.03 adds additional crosshair settings, alters Viper’s ultimate

However, Yoru updates will have to wait

The patch notes for VALORANT update 3.03 are here, breaking down the most recent changes. Patch 3.03 allows players to additionally customize their crosshair and switch between different crosshair profiles, while Yoru buffs have been delayed indefinitely.

After what feels like months, VALORANT is finally getting some noticeable changes. Players will now be able to further customize their ADS crosshair and sniper center dot. These changes were not explicitly explained in the patch notes themselves, however, only that they can be accessed by turning on “Use Advanced Options.” Other settings here include the ability to set a minimum firing error on crosshair outlines, which will now be available to players. Alongside these ADS crosshair settings, players will also have the ability to use the primary crosshair on any shotgun.

Additionally, players will now be able to save and switch between multiple crosshair profiles when patch 3.03 launches. This allows you to try out different crosshairs and find which one fits you best, depending on the game. Alongside the ability to save multiple crosshair settings, Riot Games has confirmed that the ability to share crosshair settings with friends is on their radar and could be coming sometime in the future.

Viper and Yoru updates

At the beginning of the patch notes, Character Producer John Goscicki spoke on the current state of Yoru. Since he was released in early January, players have been asking for him to be adjusted, and indeed buffed, to make him more viable to play. In the last few months, Yoru has received some changes but nothing to move him to the level of other duelists currently present in the meta. For patch 3.03, Goscicki announced the indefinite delay of Yoru changes, for the foreseeable future.

“Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the team is going to have to indefinitely delay the Yoru updates,” said Goscicki. “We’re in a situation at the moment where certain resources needed to do this work are unavailable to us. As soon as we get a clearer picture of when we can ship these changes, you’ll be the first to know.”

Outside of crosshair setting changes, there will also be a major update to Viper’s ultimate. This was shown as an update in the patch notes, but it’s actually a bug fix. In patch 3.03, Viper’s ultimate – Viper’s Pit – will start forming around Viper instead of at the cursor. This bug was seen as an advantage to many Viper mains, something that Riot acknowledged in patch 3.03.
