VALORANT Episode 4 pays tribute to Champions 2021 winners Acend

In-game banners and posters have been added to celebrate Acend's victory

VALORANT Episode 4 has come with some pretty big map changes, the kind that could drastically change the way those maps are played competitively – but some maps have seen aesthetic changes, too. On the maps Bind, Ascent and Split, banners and posters celebrating Acend’s VALORANT Champions 2021 victory have been added to commemorate the first-ever global VALORANT championship.

These posters show the Champions trophy along with Acend’s logo and the names of the players on the winning roster.

The billboard found on Bind in particular has previously been used to advertise Champions before the event, as well as tease Breeze before its release. There is no word yet on whether VALORANT plans to release weapon skins, charms or other cosmetics based on the winning team, but these in-game tributes are a fitting celebration of Acend’s watershed victory.

Acend defeated tournament favorites Gambit Esports with a 3-2 scoreline in Champions 2021 grand final. They had swept through quarterfinals and semifinals up until that point and carried that momentum all the way through to the end. The entire roster, except for Jett specialist Mehmet Yağız “cNed” Ä°pek, have officially extended their contracts through 2022.
