Day 6 of VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Berlin saw the next set of elimination matches. For one game, it was about the Europe-North America dynamic, for the other two, it was a matter of getting to stay in Berlin, or leaving before getting a shot at quarterfinals.
VALORANT Masters Berlin Day 6 Game Highlights
Match A4 — Paper Rex v SuperMassive Blaze (1-2): Haven looked like it was in the bag for SuperMassive Blaze, 7-5 at the half and continuing to a 10-5 lead. But Paper Rex came back with a vengeance, bringing the game into overtime. Paper Rex set up an amazing crossfire on their defense and their attack was near flawless, taking the map 14-12. This set up a scary scenario for SMB, because Haven was their pick and the next map, Breeze, was Paper Rex’s choice. But that map didn’t go according to plan for Paper Rex. SMB took it 13-2. And thus, it came down to Split, the last chance for both of these teams to stay in Berlin. And this one was relatively closer with a 6-6 half. After a tight map, SMB finished strong, and took it 10-13.

Match D5 — Sentinels v G2 Esports (0-2): Here are two words I never thought I would have to write: Sentinels lost on LAN. G2 was on fire for their Icebox map, slamming Sentinels 13-3. Split was a lot closer, but G2 finished with 13-11.
Now, this obviously carries more metaphorical weight than physical. In terms of ego, G2 is the only team to take away a match from Sentinels, and the G2 v Sentinels social media will ride this wave until the end. But as far as what this actually means for the tournament? Well, assuming Sentinels win their game against F4Q, they’ll be tied with G2 Esports. But, since F4Q is already out of the group stage after losing three games, both G2 and Sentinels are going to the semifinals.

Match B5 — Vivo Keyd v KRÜ Esports (0-2): For both of these teams, its about staying in to see the end of Berlin, and you could tell. Both teams had players who did incredible fragging. The first map, Split, was 7-5 at the half in KRÜ’s favor, but the game went back and forth, with great plays from both sides.
Eventually KRÜ pulled ahead, taking the map 13-11. Their second map, Haven, looked like it was going to Vivo Keyd, with an 8-4 at the half and a 10-4 lead two rounds in. But then KRÜ came back with a 6 round win streak to tie it up. They managed to beat Vivo 13-11 again. Vivo fought hard, and they showed they could compete at the top level, but KRÜ Esports was just too much.
