Our rating scale

From one (lowest) to five (highest) stars, here’s what each star rating means in layman’s terms:

* Boring. Utterly skippable and something no one will remember by tomorrow

** Watchable. Possibly recommended based on your rooting interests

*** Good. Something I’d recommend checking out, even if you’re not a fan of either team

**** Must-watch. A game or series that you need to watch if you have any interest in VALORANT

***** An all-time classic. This perfect rating is only achievable if a game or match is at the highest level of entertainment, gameplay and will go down in the lexicon as a moment no VALORANT fan will ever forget

Let’s get started

Both games have enormous stakes. Acend must win to keep their chances of nabbing title after winning European Masters 1, and Team Liquid must do the same to gain their first title. Gambit, meanwhile, were the favorites coming into the tournament after winning Masters Berlin, so victory is a matter of expectation. And for KRÜ Esports, this is their chance to prove that no team should sleep on Latin America.

For those who want to understand how the tournament boiled down to these four teams, here are the recaps for Day 8 and Day 9.

Acend vs. Team Liquid: Bind

*** stars

Every game today will feel like a nail-biter, and this map was no different. Team Liquid put up some rounds on their attack, but Acend had one of the strongest Bind performances out there. In the end, they stormed the map 13-6, looking good going into the next game.

Acend vs. Team Liquid: Split

** 1/2 stars

While it was awesome to see Acend go so strong on Split (winning 13-5), it’s tough to see a strong team like Team Liquid lose without taking much ground. This is where we say goodbye to the brother buff and we wish them the best of luck in VCT 2022.

KRÜ Esports v Gambit Esports: Breeze

*** stars

This map looked promising for KRÜ in the beginning after taking the defense 8-4, but then came Gambit’s turn. Their defense was so strong that they earned nine wins in a row. The rating would be higher if the game was closer on defense, but it was ultimately washout.

KRÜ Esports v Gambit Esports: Ascent

**** stars

What a map. KRÜ beat out Gambit’s defense in the first half, which is already a feat in and of itself. Then, they shut down Gambit on their attack. This ties the match 1-1, which means the chance to see KRÜ in the finals is increasing.

KRÜ Esports v Gambit Esports: Bind

**************** stars

Absolutely crazy map, which went back and forth, filled with aces and amazing plays that left me on the edge of my seat the whole time. If that wasn’t enough for my heart, they went into quintuple overtime. In the end, Gambit pulled through. But both teams had a phenomenal match
