VALORANT Episode 3 Act 2 begins on September 8 and will feature a new map, along with a new battlepass.Â
The new battlepass for Act 2 will consist of weapon skins, sprays, gun buddies, player cards, Radianite, a new melee weapon and a five-stage prestige for those who finish the battlepass early. As per usual, the battlepass will cost 1,000 VALORANT Points (VP) which equates to about $10 USD. Unlike most battlepass models in other games, players do not gain VALORANT Points back for completing the pass. Instead, they gain Radianite, which can be used to upgrade weapon skins and melee weapons earned through the battlepass, or purchased separately.

There will be five different free items to be unlocked through the battlepass, for those who are on the fence about purchasing it. Those free items include the Time’s up buddy, the Artisan Gun Buddy, the Phoenix versus Phoenix Player Card and the Nice Try! Spray, alongside some Radianite points. Some of the inspiration from the sprays present in this battlepass were inspired by community jokes or memes, according to Senior Producer Preeti Khanolkar.
“There’s a few sprays and cards inspired by community jokes or memes, but I’ll let the community guess which ones those are,” said Khanolkar. “The Follow Me Buddy is probably the best buddy we’ve ever put in a battlepass, so I suggest paying close attention to it. The Versus // Phoenix + Phoenix card is a really satisfying card to add since it ties back to the cinematic we released a few months ago and it’s something we’ve hinted at in a previous battlepass through the Broken Mirrors card.”
Players can unlock the Act 2 battlepass for 1,000 VALORANT points on September 8, when the new Fracture map and Act 2 release for the game.
