Last week the Japanese magazine V-Jump, which has been home to every character reveal for Dragon Ball FighterZ since before its launch, showcased a one-page spread confirming the addition of Ultra Instinct Goku from Dragon Ball Super. Now we have official confirmation from Bandai Namco as they tweeted out Ultra Instinct Goku’s official character portrait.

In addition, Bandai Namco also let us know that Ultra Instinct Goku will be officially shown off at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals in Paris, France on Feb. 8-9. This is similar to how they first showed off Jiren after Grand Finals at 2019’s World Tour. Many had expected a third season of DLC for FighterZ to be announced soon, and this information all but confirms that suspicion. Along with this news, some intrepid players digging through the game’s files found information for a new Dramatic Finish featuring Goku, Frieza, and Jiren, presumably to be used for Ultra Instinct Goku.

Even more speculative than that is the fact that there are six missing Z Stamps withing the game, suggesting that FighterZ Pass 3 might include only six characters as opposed to the eight in Pass 2, which included Jiren, Videl, GT Goku, Janemba, Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta, and Dragon Ball Super Broly.

At the aforementioned 2019 World Tour Finals, Jiren was teased before the event, but when he was officially revealed after Grand Finals he was joined by the reveal of Videl. It stands to reason that Bandai Namco might also include a second reveal along with Ultra Instinct Goku, but who that could be is anyone’s guess.

The Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour main page has all the information you need for the finals that is currently available. Make sure to keep your eyes on that page in the near future for ticket availability information, as well as stream information for your region. With any luck, Ultra Instinct Goku will release shortly after the conclusion of the finals, just like Jiren and Videl did.
