The meta for Ranked Play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is starting to open up more and more as Season 2 progresses. While the majority of players are still running the standard TAQ-56 and Vaznev-9K, other players are beginning to fall back on off-meta weapons. Guns such as the Kastov 545 and VEL 46 are appearing in the killfeed more frequently than ever. If players want to continue to shake up the meta in Ranked Play, they should consider running the Minibak submachine gun and its best overall loadout.
The Minibak was actually a dominant gun in the early days of MW2 multiplayer. It was right up there with the Vaznev and the Fennec 45 as arguably a top three SMG prior to Season 1. However, some nerfs have caused the Minibak to fall out of players’ minds when selecting an SMG they want to use. While the Minibak still isn’t as strong as the Vaznev, it can be quite a useful weapon, especially on close range maps and with the right attachments equipped.
To see the full loadout for the Minibak in Modern Warfare 2, keep reading below.
Best Minibak loadout for MW2 Ranked Play
- Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
- Barrel: BAK-9 279MM
- Stock: Oztrezat Stock
- Rear Grip: True Tac Grip
The most important attachment on this loadout is the BAK-9 279MM barrel. While generally, SMGs don’t require a barrel in Ranked, the Minibak is different. Players will need as much damage range as possible if they want to compete with the Vaznev, making this barrel a necessity. It increases both damage range and recoil control while slightly hindering mobility. The Bruen Pendulum muzzle also increases recoil control at the cost of mobility.
Luckily, the Oztrezat Stock and True Tac Grip make up the mobility deficit that the muzzle and barrel created. Both attachments boost aim down sights time and sprint-to-fire speed, giving the Minibak great mobility in the end. Pair all of this with the Minibak’s incredible base magazine size, and players might have a hidden gem on their hands in Ranked.
