The best FTAC Recon loadout in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta

One of the members of the M4 Platform

The FTAC Recon is likely one of the first weapons that players have used in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta. While some players might not want to use it, they have to in order to unlock more weapons in the M4 Platform, namely the FSS Hurricane and the M16. In the MW2 Gunsmith, players need to use other weapons to unlock guns in a specific Weapon Platform. Many players likely just get the early weapons to the rank they need to be in order to unlock the next gun. However, for players that might want to stick with an early gun, like the FTAC Recon, they should know the best loadout to use for it in Modern Warfare 2.

Players can unlock the FTAC Recon by ranking up the M4 and earning the REC_MSECHO Receiver. Once they have this Receiver, they have access to the FTAC Recon in the Gunsmith. The FTAC Recon is classified as a battle rifle, meaning it’s primarily meant to be used as a semi-automatic gun. However, the Recon does have a fully-auto option so players don’t have to manually shoot each bullet. Whatever way players decide to use the FTAC Recon, the best loadout for the gun doesn’t change.

Best FTAC Recon loadout in Modern Warfare 2

  • Muzzle: Dreadnaught Suppressor
  • Barrel: 419mm EFX Barrel
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
  • Stock: Demo Fade Pro Stock
  • Rear Grip: XTEN Grip

The biggest downfall with the FTAC Recon is its magazine size. The default size is 10 bullets, which can’t be effectively boosted without drastically decreasing performance in other areas. So, with this loadout, players will need to make do with 10 bullets. Luckily, the loadout increases mobility, damage range, and recoil control to give players a better chance at eliminating enemies quickly.
