The Season 5 update in Call of Duty: Vanguard is live, and gives now have a chance to explore all of the new content on offer. This will be the last major content update for Vanguard, as Activision is looking to transition to Modern Warfare 2 as quickly as possible. At Season 5’s launch in Vanguard, players have the chance to play a new multiplayer map and zombies map, unlock new Operators and skins via the Battle Pass and play with two new weapons. The EX1 assault rifle is one of those weapons, and fans have already figured out its best loadout in Vanguard.
The EX1 is a replica of the EM1 from Advanced Warfare, which was Sledgehammer Games’ first solo Call of Duty game. The AR is a futuristic weapon that shoots a laser beam instead of bullets. If this doesn’t sound like a World War II weapon to you, then you’d be correct. However, it seems that Activision is throwing historical correctness to the wind for Vanguard’s last season. Fortunately for players, the EX1 is a highly enjoyable rifle to use and it might even be a little overpowered in its current state.

This is easily the most unique loadout in all of Vanguard. Few of the attachments look familiar to players, as most are exclusive to the EX1. The overall goal of this loadout is to increase the EX1’s damage, charge time, magazine capacity and reload speed. With all of these stats increased, players can shoot their laser quicker and have more ammunition to shoot at enemies with. Once they run out of ammunition, though, players can reload extremely quickly. Finally, damage is incredibly high with this loadout, but range isn’t too strong, so players should keep gunfights at close to medium range.
