Territory Purification Guide – Easy Starchrom Farming

Territory Purifications allow your to transform your useless Eclipse Cortex into very useful Starchrom, but these missions can be a little tough, especially when you’ve never done one before. You’ll be happy to know that I did some experimentation and suffered some losses, so you don’t have to.

Here’s the easy way to doing a Territory Purification in Once Human, and make up to 4000 Starchrom per week.

How to perform a Territory Purification

To perform a Territory purification, you’ll need Eclipse Cortex materials. You’ll get these from clearing dungeons for the first time, during Warband activities, and in public crisis events. You’ll find them as a level one Cortex, level two, or level three. Lower level Cortex can be upgraded on a Synthesis Bench.

The next thing you’ll need is the Stardust Resonant Filter, which can be found in the Build menu under Facilities > Function Facility.

Once built, you’ll place your Eclipse Cortex inside of this machine, and you can then start the purification process. Don’t start it yet, however, as there are some more steps to take to ensure success.

You’ll notice that when you put your Cortex inside the machine, if gives you an idea of difficulty. For a Nightmare difficulty Purification, for example, you might want to give yourself the best chance of success.

How to set up your base for a Territory Purification

I highly recommend building a Turret Tower, which is basically a simple structure with Automated Turrets everywhere. This is my setup, consisting of 10 total turrets.

There’s one on each level of the tower, four on the first level, and four around the tower on the ground level. If you don’t have Turrets unlocked yet, the Auto Turrets I Memetic can be found in 03 under Building.

For the highest difficulty purification (Nightmare) I suggest level III Rifle Turrets, though you’ll need access to Tungsten for that. Simply build your tower and place the Rifle Turrets, connect them to a power source, and you’ve got a pretty decent chance of acing this.

Make sure to build your tower away from your house, or it could get destroyed in the fight. I’m speaking from experience here. Place your Stardust Filter in a secure box with the strongest walls you can build at the base of your tower.

All that’s left to do now is start the purification and close that door. But before you do that, here are some mistakes to avoid.

Mistakes to avoid in a Territory Purification

To make this simple, here’s a bullet list of what not to do.

  • Don’t use more than 40 Cortex stones. Anything over 40 will disappear without rewarding you.
  • Don’t connect all your machine guns with one cable, or if one gets destroyed, they all go down. Make sure they’re interconnected.
  • Don’t build your tower near any sensitive equipment, such as power generators or brewing barrels, etc. They could get destroyed in the fight.
  • Don’t put your vehicle near the fight. Mine got blown up!
  • Don’t go it solo if you’re unsure – ask a friend to help out. Even at Level 50 with a +8 Calibrated SOCR, these can be tough!

And that’s it. You’re ready to push that button and get your Starchrom. Good luck! If you need fuel for Prime War rockets, here’s a guide to passive fuel farming in Once Human. If you need Acid, here’s a guide to both passive and active Acid farming in Once Human.
