The teams that are in NA Stage 2 Challengers

To begin, here are the teams that are competing in the Stage 2 Challengers tournament. The top four teams qualified through their performances in Challengers 1, while the other eight fought through open qualifiers to reach this point.

  • The Guard
  • OpTic Gaming
  • Cloud9
  • XSET
  • NRG
  • FaZe Clan
  • TSM
  • Luminosity Gaming
  • 100 Thieves
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Ghost Gaming
  • Sentinels

Out of the qualifier teams, Sentinels were last to qualify after retooling their roster. They weren’t the only team to do so after starting 2022 slow, as FaZe Clan and TSM underwent more severe changes. Luminosity and Evil Geniuses return from Challengers 1, fighting through qualifiers to prove their worth once again.

Unlike those teams, Ghost Gaming has finally qualified for a Challengers tournament. The team failed to qualify in the past eight tournaments for VCT, stepping up for Stage 2 Challengers.

The groups split up The Guard and OpTic once again

As recently announced and confirmed via Dot Esports, the teams are split into two groups of six. Just like Stage 1 Challengers, The Guard and OpTic Gaming will start in separate groups, after finishing first and second. OpTic themselves have a lot to play for, as reigning international champions. As for new teams coming into the top tier, Ghost Gaming, FaZe Clan and TSM are making their 2022 Challengers debuts.

Group A

  • The Guard
  • XSET
  • NRG
  • TSM
  • 100 Thieves

Group B

  • OpTic Gaming
  • Cloud9
  • FaZe Clan
  • Luminosity Gaming
  • Ghost Gaming
  • Sentinels

When the group stage ends, the top four teams from each group will qualify for the playoff stage. Two teams from both groups will be eliminated from Stage 2 Challengers.

VCT 2022 NA Stage 2 Challengers begins on May 13, 2022.
