French esports organization Team Vitality has announced the extension of a partnership with multinational telecommunications company Orange until 2021. The one-year deal was previously started in 2019, which has consisted of both physical and digital brand activations.

Team Vitality renews partnership

“We are delighted that Orange is renewing its trust in the team after an incredible first-year partnership, during which we managed to exceed all the objectives that have been set with respect to the main areas of communication, business and sports,” said Nicolas Maurer, CEO of Team Vitality, in a release. “As with other partners, it was, from now on, important for us to be able to project into the future with our major partner and it is a great satisfaction for Team Vitality to extend this collaboration until 2021.”

The partnership will see the Orange logo being used on the front of Team Vitality jerseys, which will be worn by approximately 50 professional players. In addition, the two companies will host physical brand activations to allow fans to meet players. Digital brand activations will also be developed through a partnership with tournament host Rush Esport.

Path to $1 billion valuation

“It will allow our club to grow further thanks to the logistical support of the Orange service, especially in our new V.Hive esports venue. The power of this partnership also allows Team Vitality to meet the level of major traditional sport players in France, a priority issue for the development of our sector,” continued Maurer.

Team Vitality recently opened a 10,700-square foot headquarters and facility in Paris, after raising $15.5 million in funding from esports venture capital fund Rewired GG. It also planned to use the funding to grow the organization through expansion into Asia, with a focus on China and India. Team Vitality has previously stated that it aims to become one of the first esports teams in the world with a $1 billion valuation. What team do you think will reach that number first?
