On Tuesday, April 27, Team Liquid announced that they have signed another Teamfight Tactics player in Aleksey “Grandvice8” Tvorogov. GV8 joins an already stacked roster, as he was signed just hours after Liquid announced the signing of Robin “Robingsongz” Sung.
GV8 has been a dominant force in the North American TFT scene since Set 1. He has been inside the top five ranked players in every signal set and has peaked Rank 1 dozens of times over the course of his career. GV8 will look to continue his dominance in the newest TFT expansion, TFT: Reckoning, under a new banner. He parted ways with his old team, Fade2Karma, late last month.
What's better than one TFT announcement in a week? TWO!

Outside of being one of the best ladder players throughout the young history of TFT, GV8 is a competent tournament player as well. During the TFT Fates competitive season, GV8 managed to take home the Cloud9 North America TFT Qualifier. This was the third of four NA Regional Finals’ qualifying events of the season. However, at the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals, GV8 failed to capitalize on his momentum. He bowed out on Day 1 of the event; his new teammate, Alex “Kurumx” Tompkins won the NA Regional Finals in the end. GV8 will be looking to rebound after a disappointing end to a stellar season.
GV8 gives Team Liquid their fourth NA TFT player
Alongside Kurumx, GV8 joins a roster stacked with some of the best players in the region. Robinsongz won the second of the four NA Regional Qualifier events. Brandon “Saintvicious” DiMarco, of League of Legends fame, is also on the team. He has gone from pro League of Legends player to a top 25 TFT player in NA. These four players give Team Liquid a dynamic four-man squad with world championship aspirations.
Just like Robinsongz, GV8 stated that he has his eyes on being the best. “My hopes for TFT as a Team Liquid player, step one, win worlds,” he said.
Team Liquid’s four horses of the TFT apocalypse may not have long to wait before showing what they’re made of. GV8 mentioned that Team Liquid is currently setting up a 4v4 tournament, but no other details on that have been announced at this time.
