Just days before the release of the fifth Teamfight Tactics expansion, Team Liquid decided to create their own TFT expansion on Monday by signing Robin “Robinsongz” Sung.
Robinsongz quit his job to pursue TFT full time as a player and streamer in 2020. After months of searching for a team, Robinsongz found one of the biggest.
I'm excited to announce that I will be joining the Team Liquid family! I feel so honored and blessed for this amazing opportunity to grow and paly TFT competitively. Thank you all for the love and continuing support, I wouldn't be here without you guys. LETS GOOOOOOOOO https://t.co/dso98qRYVs

Robinsongz, who is coming off of his best TFT set ever performance wise, gives Team Liquid their second TFT player. He joins a roster that already has Alex “Kurumx” Tompkins and some prominent EU players, such as Balou “Snoodyboo” Marrone and Esteban “AKAWonder” Serrano.
The announcement comes after rumors that Robinsongz may have been joining Team Liquid. Kurumx potentially leaked the announcement on stream a week ago after mentioning to other players that him and Robinsongz were “on the same team.”
Team Liquid gets another world class player
Robinsongz looks to keep up the momentum he gained during the TFT: Fates season. He ironically won the Team Liquid NA Qualifier, which was the second of the four big NA TFT events for Fates. He also was consistently ranked in the top five players in NA throughout the duration of the season. Robinsongz also peaked at rank one multiple times. Finally, at the TFT NA Fates Regional Finals, Robinsongz managed to make it all the way to the Top 8 finals, but he fell short of qualifying for the world championship.
Looking ahead at the new TFT expansion and season, Robinsongz said in his announcement video that he has two goals he hopes to accomplish during his time with Team Liquid.
“I want to be able to bring more awareness to TFT to more fans and players.” Robinsongz said. “My other goal is to bring back a world championship to Team Liquid.”
Robinsongz and Kurumx will have to wait a little while to wave the TL flag in an official tournament, as the competitive tournament season doesn’t start until mid-May, but both players will hit the ground running as they grind for ranked ladder positioning when TFT: Reckoning goes live on April 28th.
Those interested in Team Liquids TFT players can check out Robinsongz’ and Kurumx’Â streams.
