Forget having to launch CS2 every single time you want to inspect a skin before buying. The fresh update to Steam’s marketplace brings in several quality of life features that traders have long been used to getting on third party sites.
The whole point of the overhaul is to cut down the number of times potential buyers need to open the game just to evaluate items. Valve solves this with large, custom listings and on website renders of the weapons. Crucial stats like float, pattern, and applied stickers are now visible at a glance. Overall, this greatly improves both item discoverability and the core buying experience.
Valve is also rolling out a laundry list of smaller QOL improvements alongside the major changes. The marketplace now automatically loads listings as you scroll, and advanced search is more broadly accessible from multiple page headers. They have also added breadcrumb navigation and text entry support across long lists.
The update, written by KatyRatio on May 12, 2026, finally makes the official market feel like a modern tool for the CS2 community.
