The Last Will and Testament is a side quest that you can begin by speaking to Mayor Elias Cartwright in Akila City in Starfield. After speaking to the mayor, he will say that a man, named Frank Langston, is improperly living in a house in a historical part of the city and he asks you to try and dig up the Will of the woman who previously lived in the house. Finding this Will will hopefully reveal that the woman, named Sahar Hasanov, left her inheritance to an heir, which would be grounds to remove Frank Langston from the home.
Over the course of this side quest, you will uncover that a Will was left behind by Sahar Hasanov. The Will will state that she did leave an heir behind, which means that Frank Langston can be removed from his home in Akila City. However, before you return the Will to Mayor Cartwright, you can go and speak to Langston and see what he’s willing to do to stay in his home.
This guide will go over what happens if you give the Will to either Frank Langston or Elias Cartwright in Starfield.
Giving the Will to Frank Langston
If you choose to visit Frank Langston in his home, you will learn that the residents of Akila City have been giving him a hard time about his current living situation. Regardless of that, you can explain that you found Sahar Hasanov’s Will, and Frank will immediately begin to panic.

As you might expect, Frank will offer you a bribe to take the Will off your hands. The bribe is for 10,000 credits in exchange for the Will. If you take the bribe, you can return to Mayor Cartwright and say you didn’t find the Will of Sahar Hasanov.
Giving the Will to Elias Cartwright
Alternatively, if you decide against taking the bribe or simply go to the mayor right away, this will result in you receiving only 2,500 credits as a reward. The mayor will say that they can finally remove Frank Langston from his home, and the Last Will and Testament quest will end.
Which side should you pick?
Naturally, the choice is pretty easy here. If all you’re concerned about is credits, then take the bribe from Frank Langston and run. It’s a difference of 7,500 credits, and nothing happens to you if you lie to Mayor Cartwright.
However, if you feel Frank Langston deserves to be removed from his home, then perhaps your morals will overtake greed. Either way, the only main difference in choosing Frank or the mayor is credits.
