Shadowverse is known for its anime crossovers, and to no surprise, it’s doing yet another. However, unlike past collaborations, this one will be with an anime from seasons past: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The series is a slice of life series featuring the protagonist, Haruhi Suzumiya, and her best friend Kyon. Together, they encounter mysterious beings like aliens, espers, and time travelers! Along the way, they figure out the source of these strange phenomena is closer than they think…

The anime was a big hit in 2006 when it first aired but failed to earn the final season fans craved. This has left many hoping for a sequel or at least some amount of closer to the series. The announcement of this collaboration is exciting, to say the least, but I wouldn’t get any false hope over a final season any time soon.

The Event

The Shadowverse collaboration is most likely meant to coordinate with Dec 18, a pivotal date in the series. I could say why, but I don’t want to spoil too much for those who may have not watched it yet. The event will run from Nov 24 to Dec 19 at 7:00 a.m. PT. During this time, players will get a special emblem and sleeves themed around The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. In addition, free packs will also be given away. Leaders of the three main female characters will also be available for purchase. These will be Haruhi Suzumiya for Portalcraft, Yuki Nagato for Runecraft, and Mikuru Asahina for Swordcraft. Upon purchase of all three leaders, players will receive an exclusive pack of sleeves featuring the trio.

There are also three exclusive animated cards to earn through missions during the event. These are yet to be revealed, but it will most likely be Rotation staples in each class of the leaders. New art featuring each character will be shown. If you want more information about the event, check out the official site!
