The Sentinels of Light is Riot Games’ major summer event spanning across all of its titles. The event begins on League of Legends: Wild Rift on July 8 and ends on August 10. On Wild Rift, the Sentinels of Light event features an in-game narrative experience where players can meet and bond with champions. These champions will include Lucian, Senna, Riven, Irelia, Vayne and Akshan. Also, players can explore the Sentinels HQ. The game is delivering a unique AR experience that invites players to explore a Sentinel Outpost and take the Oath of Light, allowing them to become Sentinels.

During this event, players will increase their Sentinel Bonds. The stronger the bonds, the higher their overall Sentinel HQ level. Players who strengthen bonds to increase their HQ level get themed items like baubles, and one of the six featured champions for free. So, players stand the chance of getting Lucian, Senna, Riven, Irelia, Vayne or Akshan for free. The Champion gained remains permanently available to players.

Although Vayne, Riven and Irelia are not members of the Sentinels of Light, they will receive Sentinel skins and join the event. Riot has already announced that both Lucian and Senna will be available on Wild Rift from 8 p.m ET on July 8. Players will be able to use these two champions from the beginning of the Sentinels of Light event. Lucian, the Purifier as he is called, is a Sentinel of Light and a hunter of undying spirits. Together with his wife, Senna (the Redeemer who was once trapped inside Thresh’s lantern), they aim to stop Viego and protect Runeterra from the evils of the Black Mist.
