Securement Silo EX1 can be pretty challenging on your first play through, especially if you don’t know the boss mechanics beforehand. This guide will walk you through the whole dungeon, as well as how to avoid the powerful boss attacks at the end.

Where is Securement Silo EX1?

You’ll find Securement Silo EX1 in the Chalk Peak area (2145,-6528), and the nearest thing is a teleportation tower — which is great. But it’s far out of the way, so you might have to travel all the way there if you haven’t activated that one yet.

What do you get from Securement Silo EX1?

You can legendary mask mods from all game modes in Securement Silo EX1, though you will get more on the harder difficulties. You’ll also get Stardust Source, Energy Links, and armor mod parts. Finally, you’ll get Eclipse Cortexes from the Hard and Pro modes.

Of course, there are always extra items from crates and materials that can be obtained inside.

As you start, you’ll have a few enemies to deal with alread. Take care of them and make your way through the security checkpoint. Take a right, and to your right will be a door with a room containing some extra loot and a few enemies.

Exit the room and continue the way you were going. Enter the elevator and head down.

There’s only one way to go here, so head down the hallways and you’ll get to a room that you need to open with a control panel. There are lots of enemies inside, especially if you’re playing on Hard or Pro mode. You’ll also have an Arbiter inside, which is a fairly dangerous enemy.

You’ll need to defeat him to get the V3 Access Card, however. Once you have the access card, you can enter the room to your left (from where you entered) to find a weapon crate.

Head to the main doors to exit this room and head down the endless stairs and into the next room, a room filled with jail cells, where you’ll have more enemies to deal with. Once you’ve dealt with them, enter the cell A009 on the ground floor to find some more crates or containers.

Then head back up and find the doorway that’s blocked with vines. To progress, you’ll have to shoot the orbs hanging from the vines, which will clear the doorway.

Clear out the next room, which will contain an Elite Enemy on Hard and Pro, and make your way to the next area (you can’t miss it, it’s one of those magical-portal-looking doorways on the ground floor). Be sure to grab the storage crate in this room before you leave though (it’s on the upper floor).

Dealing with the Puzzle at Securement Silo EX1

You’ll find yourself in a puzzle room, and thankfully it’s pretty easy. Move when the traffic light is green, and stop when it’s red. If you don’t stop, you’ll be teleported back to the start of the room. You’ll know when it’s red though, as the whole room turns a shade of red.

There’s also a gear crate and some enemies that spawn in this room. Enter the next portal-style doorway, and it’s time for the boss fight.

How to beat the boss at Securement Silo EX1

Does that boss look familiar to you? Isn’t that the giant siren we beat so easily at the start of the game? Well, this time he isn’t so easy, but still very manageable. To beat him, all you need to do is shoot at the lights on his head.

Be careful though, try to stay behind the cover of pillars. When the lights turn red, you’ll freeze and one of the satellite dishes around him will launch a beam attack in your direction. You’ll want something between you and that attack, trust me!

You’ll also have to deal with plenty of additional enemies attacking you, so it’s wise to bring the wolf deviation or something similar that can fight off these enemies while you focus on the boss.

And that’s it, you’re clear, time to collect your reward and move on. Feel free to check this room, but I didn’t manage to find anything worth picking up, apart from a bunch of Acid from the defeated enemies.
