Gaming chair manufacturer Secretlab is working together with esports partners to donate 50,000 medical-grade masks for healthcare workers combating COVID-19. Additionally, it will donate part of the proceeds from select special edition chairs to fund an additional 200 masks per chair.

Secretlab announced this act of kindness in an official Facebook post. The donations will go towards US hospitals, where a rising number of COVID-19 cases have been detected. The US has recently broken the record of the highest number of COVID-19 cases throughout the globe, and it’s facing plenty of hardships because of it. Some of these include the unavailability of masks and protective equipment in hospitals, plus a shortage of ventilators. Secretlab donating 50,000 masks can help prevent healthcare workers from becoming infected and even dying.

Additionally, it will include Riot Games, Cloud9, G2 Esports, Astralis, and more in the next portion of its donation. The official Secretlab website hosts a variety of products, including exclusive esports gaming chairs – some of which are special edition. It plans to use the proceeds for a select number of chairs to help hospitals, funding an additional 200 masks for each chair sold. Secretlab ends the statement by saying, “Healthcare workers are our most invaluable resource in the fight against COVID-19. And unlike masks, they’re irreplaceable.”

Joining forces for a good cause

Within an email sent to all Secretlab customers, the company also sent out a call to action for the gaming community to come together during these difficult times. “It’s also time for the esports and gaming community to work together to beat back the virus.”

Secretlab will join plenty of other gaming companies and esports teams in the fight against COVID-19. Just recently, Twitch held a charity stream for relief efforts against the viral infection. Riot Games has also donated over $800,000 for relief in the state of California. It’s uncertain how long this situation will last, but as the community works together, we can get one step closer to an infection-free world.
