Project Brooklyn • The future of gaming and esports? Razer announces next-gen immersion

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Today at CES, Razer announced “Project Brooklyn,” a dive into the next generation of fully immersive gaming. Project Brooklyn is a concept chair, designed to transform your game. Whether you’ll be playing console, PC, or simply streaming movies. This chair promises 4D immersive experiences complete with panoramic display.

The future of gaming

In October last year, Razer launched their first ever gaming chair, the Razer Iskur. Following the design elements of the Iskur, Project Brooklyn is here to take the next step. The chair has a ton of similar features as the Iskur: plush comfort, adjustable, leather-stitched back, and foam cushions. Project Brooklyn further adds an innovative, fully modular armrest. These armrests are designed to change based on the gamers’ preferences: console gaming, PC, or entertainment. Various keyboard and mouse pairs can be added and these fold away when not in use.

Probably the most compelling feature of Razer’s Project Brooklyn would be the panoramic 4K display. The chair utilizes Razer’s audio-driven haptic feedback system (similar to what’s on the Razer Nari Ultimate). The system has been given a makeover and is called the Razer HyperSense. The integration of Razer HyperSense with the panoramic display looks like this could be the game changer players are looking for in the future of gaming.

Project Brooklyn will showcase classic Razer features

It wouldn’t be a Razer product without some characteristic Razer features. The Project Brooklyn chair will feature full Razer Chroma RGB. The outsides of the seat cushions and stand will all have customized lighting functionality and can be synchronized with other devices.

Project Brooklyn is still in its development phase.

Razer said they will continue working with esports athletes and top influencers to benchmark the feasibility, comfort, and performance of the chair. There is currently no word on when this new future gaming chair will be released. For more information on Project Brooklyn, check out the Razer website.
