Teamfight Tactics Thursday
The tournament name has the word “Thursday” in it. However, no information has yet been given to suggest it will repeat, at the moment. Streamers invited to this event include William “scarra” Li, Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, and Rumay “Hafu” Wang. Some of the other streamers also consist of Hammoudi “Yassuo” Abdalrhman, Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, Sebastian “forsen” Fors, and Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo. There are a total of 16 total participants for the first event, but Pokimane mentioned that she had a longer list if she were to host it again.
The original tweet also mentions that gifted subs will be given out for good sportsmanship, entertainment value, and participation. The total $15,000 prize pool is split up to the top four players per round played. This tournament is the first official Teamfight Tactics tournament to take place. Twitch has also announced that a Teamfight Tactics Twitch Rivals tournament will take place in the future. With Pokimane streaming the wildly popular game herself, hosting a tournament is a great way to connect with her fellow content creators. Each streamer competing in the TFT Thursday event will be streaming to their individual channels.
The esports tournament will be commentated by Sam “RiotKobe” Hartman-Kenzler and Mark “TheeMarkZ” Zimmerman. These two casters may seem familiar to TFT players as they also cast the League of Legends LCS. With Teamfight Tactics being such a new game, there aren’t any guidelines or restrictions on third-parties that host tournaments for the game. Will you be watching any of the streamers that will be participating in Teamfight Tactics Thursday?
